The Digital Library and its Services
6-7 March 2006
The British Library, London
Ann Apps, Rachel Heery, Amanda Hill, Pete Johnston and Traugott Koch attended a two day conference The Digital Library and its Services at the British Library in London on 6-7 March 2006, jointly sponsored by the British Library, JISC and UKOLN.
The purpose of the meeting was to bring together experts to discuss evolving approaches to digital library services, hoping to identify potential future areas of joint work and collaboration.
The focus was on four major service areas: persistent identifiers, access management, collection and service registries, and digital preservation. On the second day Rachel and Pete led a session about Collection and Service Registries - approaches and service solutions, during which Ann gave a presentation about IESR.
