Digital Library Service Registries (DLSR) Workshop

23-24 March 2006

Washington D.C., USA

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Ann Apps, Amanda Hill and Traugott Koch attended the Digital Library Service Registries Workshop held on 23-24 March 2006 at the National Science Foundation in Washington D.C., USA. As well as attendees from JISC and the IESR, delegates included representatives from the Digital Library Federation, the National Science Digital Library, the National Science Foundation, the Institute for Museum and Library Services and a number of US universities.

The morning session comprised a number of presentations about registries. Some of these registries cover specific types of services, such as the UIUC OAI-PMH Registry and the OCLC OpenURL Registry, while the IESR and OCKHAM registries are 'service agnostic', describing a variety of interfaces.

On the next day Ann Apps and Amanda Hill attended an additional meeting to discuss writing up the event. A report will be published in due course.
